Detego AS · Sudoku Ultima
Privacy policy
This policy explains what happens to information when you play Sudoku Ultima, use its optional online leaderboard, or visit these information pages.
Your puzzle and preferences
Practice puzzles, progress, sound and motion settings are stored on your device. Practice play does not require an online profile. Completed results are kept in a local statistics and retry record. Your device’s backup settings may also affect local app data.
After you join with an online profile, the app sends completed practice difficulty, elapsed time, hint count and a random result identifier to your private online statistics. Practice results do not appear in public rankings.
Optional online play
If you join the leaderboard, our server stores a player identifier, your chosen public username, a hash of your access credential, ranked puzzles and their solutions, start and completion times, scores, and private practice statistics. A hash of a deletion code is stored if you request one. We use these records to provide your profile, verify results, prevent misuse and display rankings.
Your public username, rank, score, completion time and player identifier can be seen by other leaderboard players. Your username is permanent, so choose a nickname rather than your real name or email. We do not ask for your real name or email to play.
Our server receives your IP address when you connect. It is used for request limits and may appear in the hosting provider’s access or security logs.
Advertising
The mobile app uses Google AdMob and Google’s User Messaging Platform. An interstitial ad may appear after a completed puzzle. Depending on your device, region and privacy choices, Google’s SDK may collect or share IP address (including approximate location), device or account identifiers, ad interactions, and diagnostic or performance data for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Non-personalized ads can still involve data processing.
Where required, a consent message appears before ads are requested. Available choices can be revisited in the app at Settings → Privacy & support → Ad privacy choices. Playing Sudoku does not depend on agreeing to personalized advertising. Our leaderboard access credential is not sent to AdMob. Read Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from apps.
Retention and deletion
Your online profile, private practice statistics, and ranked game records remain until you delete the profile or it has had no contact with the online service for 24 months. A weekly cleanup then removes the inactive profile and its associated records. Practice play that stays offline does not reset this period. Ranked results received within seven days can enter rankings; later results count only in private statistics. This ranking cutoff does not erase the game record.
Deleting your online profile removes its username, credentials, deletion code, games, statistics and scores from the active database. The app also clears that device’s online profile, queued uploads for it and saved ranked board. Practice progress remains on your device. Copies on other devices and data held independently by advertising providers are outside this deletion process.
Server access and error logs are kept for 14 days. We keep a daily, administrator-only database backup on this VPS for 14 days; this database is not currently copied offsite. Deletion removes a profile from the active database immediately, but an earlier backup can contain it until that backup expires. A restore could reintroduce data deleted since the backup; we pause the service, check known deletions, and remove restored records before reopening.
You can delete in the app at Settings → Online profile → Delete online profile. You can also delete on the web with your saved code, including after uninstalling the app. Without the app or its saved code, a public username alone cannot verify account ownership.
Your choices and contact
Online play is optional. You can play practice puzzles without a leaderboard profile. Use our contact form for privacy questions or requests to access or correct your information. We ask for a reply address so we can respond; it is not displayed publicly. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights.
Contact form submissions are kept in a private inbox until resolved, then removed from the active inbox after 90 days. Your reply address is used to respond to your enquiry. Server logs and backups follow the retention details above.
